Started rather late on Saturday, but I finally got off my lazy ass and installed the GT-40 valve springs I got from Todd... I'm hoping this will cure the 4700+ rpm vibe the car has had since day one. I'm honestly not holding my breath that this will do the trick..but we'll see.
Also installed some FMS 1.72 rockers, 87-93 valve covers (Thanks again Todd..LOL), Paxton FPR, fixed FP gauge, and a 70mm TB. The valve covers are sitting in the garage right now drying (they are painted Lazer Red to match the car) and after a couple more coats of polyurathane, they should be looking pretty good...
I have 24# injectors and a 75mm Pro-M MAF for the car as well, although the MAF is the 87-93 style, so I'm going to have to fab up a cold-air kit to make it work. For now, it's going back together with the 19#ers and stock MAF so I can have a way to work this week..LOL
Feels good to finally be modifying my own car again! :)
I guess I should thank the guy who left all these parts at my house 10 mos ago and refuses to pay me the $125 he owes me! LOL I think I finally got me a BinghamDeal! LOL

Chris,
Should we tell him how easy it was to put the studs in my car? If we hadn't talked for an hour it might not have taken an hour and fifteen minutes to do them. Thanks for being the test mule Darrell. :D

LOL! No, I was going to let you bring that up :D
Thanks for the stud install tips D! We did get the thing done, complete, in three hours, with a good hour of after job jive-shucking...
I did break a sweat though :D

LOL! So, did you guys come up with any tricks above and beyond what I figured out? After having to replace two of the studs due to my POS UPR lug nuts, I think I got it down pretty good.
Also realized my electric impact doesn't have the testicular fortitude to pull them ALL the way in. Fred's air impact, however...had plenty! LOL
To update the original thread, got the car running last night, and as I feared...the vibe is still there...:( New post to follow

Nope, we pretty much followed your lead...
We did use a -24 split flange fitting (standard high-pressure hydraulic fitting) as a spacer/guide for pulling the studs in. Apply lots of anti-seize, and suck them in (after drilling, of course).
Make sure you anti-seize the stud after installing, and check it for bunged threads (and repair/replace accordingly)...I've had to 'replace' a couple of studs on a guys car that sucked them up dry, and they galled badly, destroying the stud upon removal...

Oh yeah...ya gotta use anti-sieze on them..LOL My biggest concern was whether or not I was going to be able to drill perfectly straight or not. I guess since everything went together, I must have done something right..haha
Glad to hear it turned out ok Kyle....

Bout time Darrell- haven't seen ya in a while.
I need you to drop by sometime and take my slow assed cobra for a test drive and see where these noises are coming from.
1 is a squeel that is either the TOB or Clutch- If I light touch the clutch the squeeking goes away. The other is a clunking in the rear portion of the car that stumps me.

First noise is 95% the TOB.
Second could be a loose d/s, bad ujoint in d/s, worn control arm bushings, LOOSE control arm bolts ( /me looks at Darrell ), or any other number of things.
D will getcha straightened out.

I believe this is a Neighbors' attic only piece. But don't fret, he has 50 of them up there. Not only did it get the job done, but it has it's own handle.

Hey Ken....
The squeak definitely sounds like a TO bearing. As far as a clunk from the rear....I'd just have to check it out. Depending on when the clunk occurs, it could be something that has loosened up (although we torqued everything to spec) or something that might be in a bind
Gimme a ring on the cell...I *might* be out of town this weekend, but if not....I'll come check it out...
