until there's an official "PC HELP for Dummies" forum.

My prob.

I had my shtuff set up to send files to my storage space on EV1.

I 'thought' I was downloading an updated virgin of "WS_FTP95 LE" - but it was the same old virgin.

Anywho, it erased all my saved defaults on the login prompts. As my defaults allowed me just to hit "enter", I didn't pay much attention to the information that was in the blanks (plus I think I have oldtimers).

NOW, I have roadrunner and want to upload shtuff to my space there.

Problem - I have no clue as to what is supposed to go in the blanks (no, it ISN'T funny!). ;)

I've attached a shot of the FTP login screem.

Can someone"fill in the blanks" for me? Also, please check to see if the information in the filled blanks 'look' correct.

My 'space' is located at http://home.houston.rr.com/rixpix/

help? n e 1?

Thanks a pillion!

with mine, my user id is just blue91, not the entire blue91@houston.rr.com email addy. Not sure if it'll work both ways.

Other than that, you should be able to connect with what you have entered.

LOL! Rick I love reading your posts. It's like watch a kid hit his dad in the nuts with a baseball bat. It's funny as crap, but we all feel for you.

Just wait till you see my next posts in this forum - I'm about to embark on upgrading from 98SE to XP Home!

On second thought, I think I'll just go buy a new PC with XP already installed - it'll save gallons of alcohol and prevent numerous items from "accidentally" breaking 'round the house.

Wish me luck - I'm going in!

Don't feel bad Rick. My house still sports a 233 Mhz Pentium with Winders 95...and that is the GOOD computer, LOL!

BTW, the GOOD computer is in the garge. :D

Rick, if it's not too late, please don't get the HOME edition of XP, get Professional.

Rick I wouldn't recomend either version of XP if you can get an un formatted machine and I will let you have a copy of Win2K, XP had and still has some serious issues that micrsoft has denied it having and refuse to do anything about. I even went to the extreme of reformatting my hard drive plugged into another machine so i could put W2K on my (new 1 tear ago) dell taht came with XP.

You ought to be a translator for google. You could do the redneck version.
