Mr. Book,

This is Thomas Gordon from the Brazoria County Sherriff's office, and we have recovered what we think are the remains of your 1990 Ford Mustang convertible. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, the vehicle was nearly stripped. We were able to salvage one large pnuematic caster, and this...

Please, if you'd like to come down and claim the remains, please do so ASAP, as we charge $55/day storage fees...

Your attention to this matter greatly appreciated!

Thomas Gordon

LMAO! YOU DA MAN!

Thanks for finding my..uh....vehicle...but at $55/day? .......you can HAVE it.

Don't cha just LOVE that plazma cutter?! How long did that take you? - 5 minutes?

I 'will' say, it was a bitter sweet moment to see the Mustang corpse being towed away in your Power Stroking Hurst.

I may as well look at it this way: One Mustang dies and leaves its heart (engine/tranny) to an older brother so that it can live another day!

I'll say it again, YOU DA MAN! and 'Thanks' again,

Rick

Well, I diddn't use the plasma; I broke out the oxy-acet rig...

spent about an hour or so on it, as I had some 'maintainnence' to do on the torch (hammer WAS involved...).

My version of 'art' attached...

[Rick, my brother: I too know the tragedy and heartfelt sorrow when losing a 'loved' one. I lost my first car shortly after I spent $3500 one summer on it (owned it for five years, collecting parts). Darned telephone jumped out in front of me while I was speeding through a residential zone while 'comatose'. Than goodness I didn't hurt anybody or thing other than my pride and wallet. I had a hard time carting mine off, too...BUT, your next act ought to be killer, especially since it'll be FI!]

Re: your attachment (carcASS.jpg)

I'll bet it was a proud moment for Debra and the next door neighbor lady when you showed up with THAT jewel in tow!

But it looks GREAT at YOUR place though! :D

Debra was all right with it, as she knows it's only temporary. Michael REALLY likes it! I told him it was his, as a project, and he was 'Oooh, daddy. Me like that car!' He kept wanting to sit in it...

I've half-filled the trunk already; makes a handy storage continer, so I might just keep it...

Nay!

He he! When you told me, "I just have a thing for sheet metal", I KNEW you'd find a use for it! (may make a conversational BBQ pit also ......)

Later,

R

Well, I thing she's just about done...

I got the bart out last night, and the front end off tonight...

One more day and she'll be at the recycler, on her way to making somebody a new Focus, or Neon...

re: barebones.jpg

Wow. That didn't take you long either!

'Hope the front suspension components were found to be okay. Actually, I think the struts and lowered springs probably have 5-8K(max) miles on them. They were installed about 3 years back - just not many miles on 'em (relatively speaking).

Looks like this thread is nearing its end!

Maybe!

I can take detail shots of all the panels if you like, and spy shots everyday in the yard until she's gone...

BTW, storage fees are at $110 right now...:D
