View Full Version : Make an old man happy.

I came across an old video of my Mustang before O' hauled it away to Mustang heaven (it did TOO go to heaven - all dogs go to heaven :D ).

I know some of you old-timers here on PMFR have seen it before, but my testosterone level is low tonight and I need to build it up by showing the newbies.

Make an old man happy and bear with me.

(jeez, even the name of this vid is corny "Wild Horses" - how original :embarassed: you're right Cristina, I AM a dork!)

And now, without further adieu, I present:

Wild Horses (http://users3.ev1.net/~rickbook/wildhorses.wmv) (I'm so embarassed)

Post Mortem:

During the disassembly of the car, I found that the 90 deg elbow from the brake booster to vacuum line was cracked (severely). I didn't realize this until way after the accident (when I was parting out the car). I thought it was the rain-slicked road that caused the tires to not grab.

I'd been working on installing my line-lock earlier that day. I must've broken the peice then.

There's no way the brakes could've worked as they were supposed to on that 'infamous' date (Neighbor's B'day I do believe??).

Also, on a side note, while I was dismantling the car, I found that the air-bag sending unit (?? baby blue electrical box underneath dash) had been spliced into and subsequently disconnected. No air bag deployment. Yes, I was wearing my seat belt. Except for a few glass cuts on my hands (getting out of the car), I was fine.

IMHO, one of the FIRST things to get on your street/strip machines is to get a roll bar. As fate would have it, that happened to be one of the first mods I made (the visual of a roll-over in a vert with passengers haunted me). :(

/me wishes he still had the car
/me is glad to be putting its engine in the Maverick :D

My street racing daze are over with. Besides, VERTS ARE HEAVY AS HELL!!! Never again will I try to build a street/strip convertible.

Now, I might be interested in a blue GT in case you have one ..... ;)

Sorry, I only have a Blue GLX.... it's slow and rusty anyways, you wouldn't want it. ;)

Nice Rick! (The video...not the pic!) I'd never seen your vert except for the "final" pictures...

On a brighter note....that thing should FLY in the MaveRick!

With the addition of a Systemax, solid lifters, cam to your specs, beefier valve springs, 30+ lb injectors, I would agree - it should scoot.

(The video run was on the (shitty) Windsor Jr iron head's - now have AFR 185's).
