Is stock pushrod length 6.25"?
Also I'm putting the 89 "back to stock". So can anybody think of anything I should order? So far I have ordered gaskets and will order pushrods. I have the short block already assembled, just need to throw everything back together. Are the stock head botls re-usable? Anything else I should think about for converting back to slow form?

Kyle,
Considering how many people on this board are running aftermarket heads, I would bet someone has a set of stock pushrods laying around. BTW, yes, they are 6.250" long. No reason to buy new ones......used will definitely get the job done.
Are you putting it back to stock just to sell it or drive it? If you plan on keeping it for any significant amount of time, I would recommend against re-using the stock headbolts. They are designed to be torqued once and that's it. Will they still work? Sure....but the bolt stretch gets a little funky and they don't hold a torque real well. ARP bolts are about $36 from Summit and can be re-torqued as many times as you want.
Good Luck

Kyle, I have a set of stock pushrods if ya need them. But, they are only like $.73 each from your local ford dealer.

Thanks fellers. That's what I was thinking about the stock head bolts. This is kind of a temporary solution, so I'm not sure what I'll do. I need to get the hatch running while I re-build the vert. Let me look around and see what all I have in the shed. I may actually have some stock pushrods I just can't remember.
As for the vert. I finally started working on it again. Got the front bumper and both fenders removed. Started cutting wiring out (kind of nice to cut and not un plug). Got the rigged exhaust removed. Got some of the interior removed. Next up, pull the AOD and motor (hey I'll use those pushrods) and yank the top frame. BTW my wife got me a transmission jack from Harbor Freight for $24! Pregnant women have their advantages. :D

I was waiting for someone ELSE to post about re-using the head bolts! LOL!
I was putting the heads on my daily driver ('79 LTD 302) one time (years ago) and had to RE-replace one of the heads at 3:00 a.m. in the morning.
I had to have the car for work that morning so I re-used the bolts AND GASKET - just torqued it down about 20 ftlbs more. Lasted me until I traded the car a few years later.
Granted, this wasn't a performance car but ??
