Well its not working my mustangs, but I have gotten a bunch of stuff done elsewhere. The little 180K mile 302 had a disagreement with the lower radiator hose and proceeded to mess up the motor. I have been in the process of replacing the 302 with a low mialge 351 motor out of a 88 truck. Other than gaskets the only thing I had to buy was a distributor and a 351 computer for my truck. Well, the motor was stripped down over the past week and the new 351 was cleaned up and put back togehter so today was the day to do the swap...and with my brothers help there is now a new 351 under the hood of my 92 F150. I should have the trans (E4OD) back in tomorrow after a get some shorter flywheel bolts and a couple of bellhousing dowel pins. I hope to have it back on the road (pending a new exhaust) by next weekend. The one interesting thing that I found was that the 302 motor in my truck had a roller cam in it. I don't know if its factory, but I think it is, I'm the second owner and have had this truck since it had about 60K on it. Anyone know if these trucks had roller motors in them from the factory?
Also, my father and I picked up a new nice little project, we brought home a 1979 CJ7 with a Chevy 454 in it. Its not a runner but hopefully its only a little problem with the 454 and I can get it going again...Future plans for the vehicle don't include the 454 so I'll have to see how much work it will take to have some fun with it for a little while...Eventually, it will have a 75 AMC 304 in it with a 3 speed manual and regain the 4wd (its only 2wd with the 454).
I'll try and get some pictures up soon.
