A little background. I have a bunch of friends that hunt --like all the time for anything that is in season. I don't hunt, but had developed an interest after hearing the stories. So the group, coming up empty handed throughout the year, decides to go on a meat mission. The meat mission has nothing to do with racks or points or trophy or any of that other shit. It's about barely legal bucks --the nice tender ones. The purest may comment about this type of hunting --save it. I got exactly what I wanted.

Chuck Conners has nothing on my badass. One of the guys let me use his Marlin 336. I was skeptical about the gun, but after using it, I want one just like it.

In sum, it was fun. We were out for 3 days and eveybody tagged --5 tags. We killed and ate and drank and killed and drank some more. Maybe next time I'll spend some time in the hills and get a trophy. For now, I'm enjoying the shit out of this meat.
