View Full Version : Chip Decision?
Hey guys and ladies
I've got 2 chips a Hypertech, and a Superchip, and was wondering wich one is better. The Superchip is in the car now. When I bought the car months back the guy gave me an extra Hypertech but have never instaled it. Thanks. GOD SPEEEED!!!!!!

'Run each down the track' is the first thing that comes to mind (if you're looking for performance only).
If you're looking for driveablity, maybe one works better than the other for your set-up.
Hard question to answer. Depends on what 'better' is to you.
Just rambling.

The brand of chip really doesn't mean a hill of beans. What's important is the tuning knowledge that went into the chip based upon your cars specific modifications. Most retail chip manufacturers (Superchips, Hypertech, and Diablo) do mostly cookie cutter chips.
If you're looking to switch to a different chip, go for one that has a custom tune based upon your car's modifications, not a one size fits all chip.

I'll agree with what Ben said, but if you consider a custom chip, why not consider one you can custom tune yourself? This would be a TwEECer (www.tweecer.com). The only downside is that there is a learning curve and if you screw something up, it could damage your engine, though ifyou're careful, you won't.
I have one, but due to work and my car being in poor running condition, I haven't installed it yet :).
