Those of us who started this site had hoped to have the group, as a whole, contributing tech articles and resources so we can eventually have one of the best "databases" of do-it-yourself articles on the net!

So far, Chris has been the MAIN force in our tech article submissions, and while he does a GREAT job, he wont continue if he is the only one putting forth the effort. I know many of us dont really think about taking pics and writing notes for a future tech article, when it comes to something simple like changing a maf, tb, etc. However, not everyone knows how to do simple projects like these, and a simple article would do wonders in teaching them how.

I know 4 different people who have cars being built up (in one way or another) right now and others who are constantly upgrading their vehicles. While no one here can MAKE anyone do a tech article or take pics while someone else does an install, to help them document their install, it would be extremely appreciated if we could take some initiative to get some of this going on.

Personally, I have 2 different tech articles I have planned (one is halfway done). I just am trying to find the time to complete them with pics and all. Once we get Cristina's coupe back from the paintshop, I have many many many more planned as we put the car back together from ground up almost.

Before I get these two articles on my slate finished, I will be taking pics and making notes on yet a third article, one to show how to install a firewall in a Mustang coupe.

Feel free you guys/gals to add your input, opinions, FU's, etc here.

Thanks to you all for being part of this site. Through the input and involvement of all of you, we will grow into a site that's known by DIY circles throughout the country!

Regards,

That reminds me, I need to get the T45 article finished...

As a side note, if you guys write them, Fred and I can convert them from a number of formats into a .pdf. I normally work in Word and AutoCAD, but try to remain flexible and challenged.

If you have ideas/comments/suggestions for tech, please let us know. I tend to work on a bit of everything, and often times do not have the luxury to stop and document. If that's the case, it might not be a bad idea to volunteer some time to help others complete the articles (not necassarily do the writing, but force us to stop, think, and answer questiins as we go; or take pictures...).

I have a long list of items in WIP and pending, and try to update the calendar based on my schedule. I suggest you review it and add to it if and when an event needs to be done (this includes all activities)...

We're by no means experts, and most of us have learned by doing. Tech artilces are our way of trying to share our experiences and outcome so that you may or may not follow the same path, LOL! If that doesn't work, I have quite a number of books...:D

Don't discontinue it yet. I'll see what I can get out. Give me a few weeks, but I can probably get articles on interior, gauge wiring, motor swaps, etc.

I, like many others, get wrapped up in the job and forget to get pics of all the steps. I kick myself when I am done and don't have half the pics that I thought I did :( I do usually get a before, during and after shot at least though.

Well Darn, If I 'd known you needed tech articles we (chris and I) could have done one on making an export brace and I could have done one on hanging spring perches and making traction bars. Don't know how much interest there would have been. Later on this year I'll be installing a painless wiring kit in a full race car, probably using Slater patented improvements. Any interest in that?

Anything related to improving performance/function of automotive vehicles that we like to race (in any form) is welcome! Eventually, if we can get enough articles, I will be able to organize them into directories, etc on the "tech article page" (which is linked at the top of these forums and on the front page, for those of you who never visit the front page).

hehe my "tech article" on "how to: not catch your car on fire when installing sunpro 3 gauge cluster" is still in the tech discussion section. hehe. i dont know quite enough to contribute, but i might be able to do something simple on doing a drum to disc conversion for early model mustang/falcons if i have the camera when i get the money to replace the rotors on f-ride =).

Ken,

I would say 'yes' to all of your suggestions. I have several early model buddies that would be interested, and if I can ever get one of those yahoos to commit, I plan to make some SFC's for them (although they won't be as sexy as yours!).

I may have a 9" gear set-up coming soon, and although that won't appeal to most, several may find some use(lessness) from it...

Nay!

Jeez, I could have done writeup on anything I've done to the L so far. How about a play-by-play drop shackle install? Have it tomorrow if its wanted... (not too many Ls on here, don't know if it really qualifies "pomofo" :D )

How does that story go? Never enough time, never enough money? :p Good thing I can do most of it myself...
