Let's get this started!
Ben, would you please post the schematic and wiring details for hooking an electric fan control up to the factory EEC?

Why certainly.
The EEC-IV (87-95 Mustangs) has a fan control setup built in, Ford just never used it since those years came with a mechanical fan (fan clutch driven by the water pump). I use my TwEECer to enable this fan control via the EEC by setting what ECT I want the fan to come on/turn off. I use a fan from a Lincoln Mark 8 (about $150 new). This fan pulls a LOT of amps at startup and a continuous 20-30a while it's running. It's a power hog, but it can pull some serious cfm! FYI, "Pin 41" refers to pin #41 coming off of the EEC. My car didn't have a pin/wire there in the harness so I had to install one. I've heard of some EEC's actually having a pin/wire there, so it's just luck of the draw I guess.
Here's my schematic:

It's tight with a larger than stock radiator AND an 8 rib blower pulley/belt combo, but getting creative allows it all to fit. Pics can be found here (http://stang.v8mustang.com:81/pics/fan/).

Most EEC5 cars that I know of already have elec fans.. at least when talking about the Mustang. Do L's not come with an elec fan?

gawd dang what a rip off.
I haven't seen a Gen2 Lightning binary yet, but I'm willing to lay odds that the fan control stuff is in them. If it is, then the "homebrew" setup I did above should apply once you find/mount an electric fan up.

I've seen stock mustang style fans trimmed and mounted in the stock L shroud (thats what Lightning Force Performance is selling) I snuck a peak while at FFW and the fan in his kit still had the "4.6" sticker on the fan case. Just would need to wire it up and put the Cobra R water pump on it.

Well that's most of the "tech article" there. The official write up (done by somebody else) made it into the TwEECer manual.
