Its looking like Im moving back up to Dallas. Things are starting to look grim for Kellogg Brown and Root. Asbestos litigation is hitting us hard and is hurting our ability to win jobs. For that reason, massive layoffs are predicted. I decided to take the initiative (before I got a pink slip) and look elsewhere within the parent company Halliburton for other opportunities, and found one up in Dallas (Carrollton to be exact). I have a feeling this job will be a little more to my liking as it will be more hands on. It deals with "down the hole" equipment in the oil industry like packers...etc.
It sucks to leave all the friends I have made here in Houston, but then again it was great to meet a whole new crowd of "POMOFO"ers. The amount of help I have gotten from people like Joseph, Nay!, Fred, Sean, and Tracy, for my Incon install is going to spoil me when I ask for help up in Dallas. Those tools are too lazy up there to help me!
Anyways, this is hardly a good bye as I will certainly continue to frequent this site and I am sure to be down in Houston from time to time(as well as seeing you all up at Ennis). Who knows, with my degree, I may end up back down here before too long!
