I am still in shock over the ET's last night! I think I slept with a grin on my face. Thanks to Tyro for coming out and bringing some good luck, and thanks to Josh @ LMR for his magic on the boost controller and MSD because I beat my previous best ET (1/8th mile) by a full tenth and then backed it up within .03 with a new best MPH! Still with an air/air intercooler, no wheelie bars, and slicks that I got used last winter and have run on all year. I have to have close to 30 passes on them from my car alone.
C'mon Raj... I know you're down right now due to hurting a head, but I'll show you my 1/8th mile cards if you show me yours. That way you can still leave the 1/4 mile time a secret. :)
It was a great night at HMP last night. Tuff Street had 9 cars and Outlaw 8.5 had a full field. Martin Keefer was there running in the back-half class simply because he didn't have to change the weight on his car and I saw him run a 5.11 spinning! Not bad for a guy who hasn't been down the track in almost a year! Jason Traugott (2006 Cheap Steet Champ) was there. He hasn't been down the track in OVER a year, and for his first qualifying pass he forgot to put in a nitrous bottle that was actually full. Man...some of these guys get rusty quick! I went out in the first round of elims against Dwight Cannon. He was .07 quicker on the ET but I tree'd him by .03, so it was a VERY close race.

Great job on the new best. I know what it is, but Raj will have to pay me to find out.

Great Job Ben, wish he had the 6.20 class still. I may have tried to come out as I found out I didnt have to work today on Friday.
I am kinda like Brent. My schedule doesnt facilitate racing right now. Probably wont until the NMRA race or right before it.

Congradulations Ben. Are you still planning on running Oct 10th at the race in Sealy? I have that Weekend off and figured I could come out to lend a hand and watch some good racing.

Hey Mike,
Bonnie canceled the 10/10 race at Sealy. Apparently Hennesey screwed her on the revenue of the last race there. SURPRISE SURPRISE. I'm not sure when I'll be out next. The next Tuff Street race is on 10/24, and we'll be on a Boy Scout camping trip at Lake Livingston that weekend.

Cool, congrats Ben, shoot me a PM, curious to how close you are to those tuff street guys. I was debating coming out and running 6.60 yesterday, but at the risk of pi$$in off the old lady by racing 2 weekends in a row, I decided against it.
My last race of the year will be Oct 10th at HMP in the 6.60 class, then the motor is coming out and will be freshened up before its new owner comes and picks it up.

Trevor Stripling has the record at 5.0, but there's a discrepancy over his combo that puts him .1 to .15 faster than everyone else that runs the class. So if you take him out, the top dogs are running 5.11 - 5.18. Prior to this weekend the pack was in the 5.20's

Yeah, Larry I bet you'd fit Strictly Street well. Doesn't look like they're getting a very good car count though, so not sure how long it will last.

Basically the same rules with less weight than our local MAKO series. They run a base weight for a nitrous bigblock car at 3450 and only a -4 feed line. Most those guys run 5.08-5.15 area carrying around the extra 150lbs (most the guys are just under 600ci anyways) and using the smaller -4 line.
So I can see 5.0 and faster being the normal for that class soon as our residant BBC powered stang runs a slew of 5.08-5.10's in this trim. Take the 150lbs out and slap a -6 line on and I know he has been 4's.
Ryan Martin and Josh Lindsey have both been 5.0X @ 145+ mph with their 88mm turbo cars at 3325 in Mako trim BTW.
