I went and picked up some new power today. I figured it was time to keep up with the race cars on the board.

540 cubic inches of Chevrolet power. Now I need to find that F3 and geardrive.

I sold that boat 4 years ago.

The engine is going in a 1972 Kona jet boat that I picked up from a friend. It's only a 468 with about 9.3:1 comp. Should make about 400hp which is enough for cruising around the lake and river. I hope to have it in the boat in a couple weeks. I'm waiting on a few parts before I drop it in. My delima right now is deciding if I want to paint the boat now or wait till winter. If I paint it now, it will be a couple months before its running and then I probably will not want to get out on the water when it that cool.

Post pics of it so we can better help you make a decision on whether to paint now or later. If its not bad, I would enjoy it now and paint it later.

LMK when you might take it out and we'll get ours out there. What lake will you be most frequenting? SJC River is where we usually go since its so close to us.
