Unfortunately Alex was knocked out in the first round. There were no qualifying rounds, so drivers were paired up with names drawn out of a hat. Alex had the unfortunate pleasure of drawing the famed FFW and NMRA Outlaw bad ass Chris Derrek (sp). After finding this out, Alex decided to change pulley's on is SC. Well this turned out to be a bad idea. Alex had already run in the 5.60's (1/8) earlier in the day on a TnT pass. Alex's car ended up blowing away the tires on the launch forcing him to back-pedal to only a 1.58 60'. What made the race interesting was Chris' car waited till about 100' into the pass and then blew away its on tires. Both drivers had to do some serious driving. Alex ended up running a 5.99 at something like 126 mph. Problem was Chris ran a 5.76 I believe. Over all it was a very hot day with the track being less then ideal (many drivers having problems with the heat and track conditions). Alex was able to make another TnT pass towards the end of the day running a 5.72 at 126 mph with a 1.42 60'.

Damn what luck! first round and he got paired up with the Mud Duck!?

So no mechanical problems??? If there was, hopefully it wasn't with the drivers side valve train since that's the side I worked on. ;)

HAHAHAHAHA!! The motor ran just fine Ben. You lucked out this time. The only part Alex was struggling on was suspension. His best 60' of the day was a 1.40 on the first time trial he did. Keep in mind this was on the coil-over suspension. 2 weeks ago he cut a 1.33 60' with the stock non coil-over style suspension. Squely, I mean Sealy, really lived up to its reputation today with all the cars having traction problems. Many cars were .3-.4 off their bests.
