Started working on setting up automatic dbase backups...

Last night, I got with a guy who runs www.linuxrigs.com (via the VB forums) and started working on a automatic backup script for the site. We'll continue working with it next week. I need to get access to an "offsite" storage to sync the info to. I don't want to just back up to the same host in case the server itself dies.

Update:

I'm stuck doing manual backups since I'm on a shared hosting plan that doesn't offer a specific feature that would be needed to do an automatic backup to an off-site location. I can do a backup to the same location, and then just make sure I download it in case the server ever craps out.

I will be setting up a reminder via Outlook to do this every 2 weeks so I don't forget.

Fred, how big is the file? Once it's backed up, can you zip it and email it to yourself at a gmail or other account with huge space?

it's 500mb so far (and will just keep growing over time).
