View Full Version : Is there a way to change...

... how long you're idle on the site before it automatically marks all topics as read?

I like to use the "new posts" link on the main page but if I go to watch, say, a linked video I'll come back and all the topics are now marked as read. Seems to happen in under 10 minutes.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I use the New Posts -> Previous Week. That shows everything, read or not.

Chad... I haven't been able to figure out a way to change that.

In the meantime, when this happens to me, I do like Darrell said... I click the "New Posts" link in the navbar header along the time, then select Previous Day (or Previous Week). It'll show all posts made during that time, read or not.

I use the new posts link, and use my browser's back button to go back and forth from the post I'm reading, back to the list of new posts. Works fine for me, even if I go away for an hour. As long as the page is cached in the browser it will work.

This method works even better now with the Quick Reply post thing. Took me a few days to get over the habit of hitting back twice :D.

Yeah, I've used those last day/week links too... but don't think they take you directly to the latest post you haven't seen in that thread. ???

I've also done what Russ said, but it sucks when you accidentally click on the Home link again and lose that search :(

Guess I'll have to be more careful where I click. Thanks for the replies! :)

I use the new posts link, and use my browser's back button to go back and forth :D.

or open the new posts page, and right click and open in a new tab or window.
