I am looking further into the build of my mod motor. I am now looking into computers. I see Darrell and others using the MegaSquirt setup. I have a FAST XFI for my drag motor and am looking at alternatives for the mod motor. I have to use a computer with sequential capability since I will not have a common plenum for the individual runner throttle bodies.

MegaSquirt - I do not see that MegaSquirt has a sequential out yet. I do want to use COPs for the mod motor, so that complicates things.

Fast - I did find an ignition setup from KarKraft, so I could still be OK with the FAST setup. I would only use this one since I already have one. A bit of overkill for the mod motor

Motec - I am now taking a look at the Motec system. They have very sophisticated systems, including tunable dual wideband based on load and RPM. While overkill on the surface, this setup could optimize power and help me make sure I am not killing anything at high RPMs where lean can occur.

Redline - Poor websites are not allowing me to find out more on these guys. I understand it is a fairly simple and easy to use setup.

You guys heard of others?

Hi Scott

I got your voice mail - sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet, it's been a crazy weekend. I should have some time on Sunday to give you a call, if that's ok.

Sequential for the MS is being "worked on", but that's been the status for quite some time. I'm not extremely well versed on it, but I believe you can currently run COP, but it has to be in a wasted spark configuration. There's some mods that have to be made to the MS (adding 3 extra ignition drivers, IIRC)

It's a neat project and I have definitely enjoyed building the MS from the ground up. That being said, it really is a DIY solution. Everything from the building of the ECU to the implementation is entirely up to the end user. The MS forums are good, but it seems like a lot of posts go unanswered these days, Especially as compared to the "good ol days" of a couple years ago...
