Just got back to Dallas from my vacation in Colorado :D Finally landed the job I wanted here with Verizon.

My car's in the shop... permanently. We had a run-in with a 78 year old woman who waited patiently for the car to her right to pass, then forgot to look left again before pulling out. So now I'm in the market for a rolling chassis...

What'd I miss?? Who's going to be at Ennis?

Well...um...you didn't miss much here, and I don't think I'll be at Ennis. Oh yeah...that's cuz I'm the PA PoMoFO!!!:blue:

Damn Mike that sucks! Is the car toast? Caput? Anything in particular you're looking for, body-wise? You just say the word and we'll get to looking, LOL! (Is your car in Dallas? If so, what has become of it? I'm always looking for donor parts, LOL!)

Glad to see you back!

Nay!

Hey Mike!

sorry to hear about the car man. Are the go fast goodies on it salvagable??

I'll be up at Ennis. Are you gonna come out and spectate?

Welcome back Mike, hope the car isn't too bad. Most of the usual crowd will be at FFW. Feel free to come join us. I'll keep an eye out for anything up this way..

The car is actually not too bad. The hood, bumper, and driver's fender are toast, and the frame is tweaked. It's still in
Colorado at my Dad's body shop until I can go up there to get it. I will be parting it out (whatever I don't swap into the new chassis), so I'll run the parts list by here before I toss them all up on ebay.

I'm looking for any straight hatchback with good interior and a sunroof. Preferably a rolling chassis, broken down 5.0, or 4cyl. Something I can get cheap, swap my driveline into and then get painted. If you spot something, let me know!

Hey Mike, if you need any help in the Denver area, my step-brother lives in Littleton, a good friend of mine lives in Aurora, and Ken Lanham lives in Denver itself (I think; he runs a TT 377 LX; http://www.denverspeed.com)...

Cool, thanks Chris!

Luckily, I have family up there. My dad runs a body shop and a repair shop up there, so I have the car at his shop. I'll have to figure out a way to get up there and tow it back. Not in too big of a rush, since I need to find a rolling chassis and finish my engine first.

Did anyone get a new car, engine, best time, etc? What'd I miss?

It's as if we sold the frame and front clip for $4900 :D Everything else is salvagable!

Would you believe they only valued the "remains" of the car at $350?

Wow...

I have a tow dolly if you need to borrow it Mike. You'll have to pull the DS out though for long distances. The dolly has hydraulic brakes and lights that slip over your rear seat...

Nay!

(PS: I bought a station wagon; does that count?)

Welcome back Mike!

Hope everyone is okay (a car is a car is a car is a car, but a life is a life) (you can quote me on that).

Good luck,

Rick

Hey Mike, good to see you again!

Larry (the guy that lived at the corner of my street) is selling his 4cyl project car (hatch). It needs some work, but would work great for a donor I'd think. A paint job would be necessary to make it look great.

Lemme know if you're interested and I can get his phone number for ya.

See ya in Ennis.

Dang Mike! Sorry to hear about the car. I know you wanted to fix that front bumper, but there are really better ways to go about it. Did my radiator survive? :D

Well see what happened was Mike said we were going to put the paint job off for a while, and I just couldn't stand it anymore, so I had to do something about it. Although I didnt mean to hurt the car that bad, I just wasn't thinking about your radiator at the time, I'm sorry. :(

Ok what really happened was Mike had already come back to Texas I was leaving the next day to come back, I had just gone down and got new tires. I was on my way back to his dads house to pack up the car. When this crazy old woman forgets to look both ways, and pulls out right in front of me. Luckily I was only going about 30-35, I slam on the brakes but there just wasn't enough time to stop. So now I'm really mad  and upset :( so I get out of the car and the first words out of this woman's mouth are "your in big trouble little girl". I respond with EXCUSE ME I said you pulled out in front of me, and of course she says "I did not". Well it turned in to a long argument of how much trouble I was going to be in which was aggravating as hell, until the cops showed up and she got a ticket for failure to yeild. I had a few scratches and bruises, but I was fine. Came back to Texas a day later than planned. :)

No, the radiator didn't make it. :ashamed:
As such, I'm giving you first dibs when I start amassing extra parts in a month or two (e.g. bumpers, glass, hatches, etc). :D

heheh, I never did get my 11.9x... Still stuck with a 12.10 until I finish the new car. Oh well, more motivation for me! hehe

Do let me know next time you're passing through! There's always something going on up here these days :D
